About me / Life so far

Raised in Redcar, a working-class town on England’s northeast coast, sandwiched between the North Sea and the North Yorkshire Moors. I had my first child during university, and by age 24, I had two. Life moved quickly.

After graduating, I spent a few years at Vodafone, first as part of their graduate scheme, then in a variety of roles across the business. In 2013, I launched a niche online sports shop that reached $1M USD in turnover. I sold the company in 2016 and moved to Spain the following year, looking for a new chapter and a different pace.

That shift led me into the eLearning world. After co-founding The Dental Compliance Team and seeing its acquisition by Isopharm (now Agilio), I became increasingly interested in how online training could be delivered better.

I joined Apolline and helped build their Apolline Training platform from scratch. It grew to 30,000 users, issued over 100,000 certificates, with all courses rated 98%+ by learners. I also supported the company through acquisition and the migration to Dentistry CPD.

In recent years, I’ve helped develop early-stage learning platforms like Teach HQ and Food Compliance HQ, creating content, shaping strategy, and delivering structured learning experiences by managing the full content lifecycle, from writing and design to delivery and optimisation.

I'm fortunate to have a home in the north of England and the south of Spain, and I like to flip-flop between the two, often escaping elsewhere when in need of adventure or inspiration. My free time is usually spent outdoors or with a good book.

I’m especially passionate about creating learning materials that are clear, useful, and well-designed. I am particularly interested in the role of education in technology, and I’m keen to keep exploring what’s possible in that space.
